Black Cat

thrifted skirt and boots from Goodwill,
thrifted blouse from Texas Thrift Store

I love when I unintentionally wear a completely thrifted outfit. I'm generally not a super eco-conscious person, but knowing that my whole outfit is recycled makes me feel like I'm doing something good.

As you probably already know, I've been trying really hard to only buy my clothing secondhand. Not only do I have very little money to spend on clothing, but for me, going thrifting is way more fun than going to the mall. I literally get a thrill from finding "treasure" at a thrift store. It's such a different feeling than the one you get from picking up one of the same fifty dresses at Forever 21. Maybe the thrill I get has something to do with all the money I'm saving? And knowing that I'll be wearing a unique outfit that no one else has? Or maybe it's because I'm a sucker for crazy blouses like this one with wild cats all over it.

Actually, I think it's all of the above.

Confessions of a Compliment Seeker

vintage dress from Cream Vintage, tights from Marshalls,
boots found on Ebay by my sister, Gap jean jacket

I was shopping at HEB wearing this outfit when a lady stopped me to ask me where I got my dress. It probably shouldn't have made me as happy as it did, but I couldn't help it. I'm not sure why, but there is something so pleasing about getting a compliment about my clothing from a stranger. Maybe I like being acknowledged for my sense of style or maybe I just have some self-esteem issues I was unaware of. I liked my outfit all day before this nice lady had ever seen it, but then I loved it after she told me how much she liked it. Instead of trying to figure out why that is, I'm going to use that logic and give myself a compliment everyday. Take that, self-esteem!

Lost & Found

thrifted blouse from Goodwill Blue Hanger, skirt from
American Apparel outlet, DV Dolce Vita booties

I wore this sometime before Halloween, but never posted it. Maybe because it got lost in the ridiculous number of photos I have of myself...

Anyway, here it is! I quite like this top, not only because it's pretty, but mostly because it was around $1. I swear, I've developed a sick obsession with the Goodwill Blue Hanger. It's been about two weeks since I've been shopping there and I'm not going to lie, I'm starting to feel withdrawals. I might have to squeeze in a trip sometime this week. A co-worker recently told me the best time to go is at 9 am when the store opens. Now I can't stop thinking about skipping one of my classes sometimes this week to enjoy a nice two-hour morning thrifting session.

I think I have a problem.
